small wedding

I Do, on a Tuesday... by Alex Bodart

This past week has been pretty hectic for me and I’m sure alot of you as well. Last Monday I sprained my foot skating and went into work on crutches Tuesday at Mid Atlantic Community Church. At our staff meeting we discussed the precautions and steps we were going to take with this Covid-19 virus that has been sweeping the nation.

We found out that our friend and coworker Chloe would have to postpone her wedding due to the mandated closures and number of people aloud to meet at that time (under 50). We were deeply saddened by the news and lifted her up in Prayer knowing that God’s timing and plan is perfect even when we don’t understand. Later Chloe mentioned in passing that Tom and her were going to get married THAT DAY in just a few hours time. I offered to shoot photos (since they didn’t have a photographer lined up with such short notice). I couldn’t imagine not having photographs to look back on from your own wedding so I went home and got my camera equipment ready for the shoot.

When I arrived back at MACC my fellow coworkers and friends had set up a small ceremony out front under the Cross on our church property. My fiance Ashley helped me with my camera bag since I was on crutches and we captured some detail/ setup shots while Chloe and Tom spoke with Lew about the ceremony that would be happening in 30 minutes. The day turned out to be fantastic with close friends and family there to support Chloe and Tom as they started their new life together. I am thankful that I was able to play a small part in such a wonderful day amidst all the craziness going on with our world.
